This is where the magic begins! We’ll interview you and develop a Program detailing your needs and preferences. The Program will include practical factors such as number of bedrooms and bathrooms and style preferences to form a basis for the design.
We’ll analyze your site to determine view lines and important features such as trees, breezes, slopes, and solar potential.
With this information in hand, we’ll develop a Preliminary Design Solution along with conceptual architectural drawings. Quite often we will build a scale model, which we use for studying massing, roof lines, and practicality. Our models are a great way for you to visualize your home.
We’ll present this design to you and get your valued feedback. We’ll incorporate your ideas and present revisions to you before moving on to the next phase. We can also produce a rough cost estimate at this point.
Working Drawings include plans, sections, elevations, details, and window and door schedules, along with a more refined cost estimate. During preparation of the Working Drawings, you’ll have an opportunity to weigh in on design details that make the home your own.
From the Working Drawings, DesignWorks obtains all necessary construction permits and clearances.
Whether designing and building a new home or reviving and modernizing an existing space, we do work that’s built to last. DesignWorks manages the construction process, self-performs major portions of the work, and oversees our well-established team of suppliers, builders, and subcontractors.
We provide frequent construction progress updates to our clients and invite you to visit the site during construction. During the final walk-through, we work with you to develop a final punch-list.
